Microsoft Entra Verified ID integration
We are proud to announce that starting today, governments and businesses that currently use or plan to use ID Credentials from Microsoft’s suite of identity products can now do so without leaving walt.id’s open-source ecosystem.
The Developers’ Dilemma (why the Microsoft Entra Verified ID Integration)
Many of our customers already use or plan to use Microsoft for their enterprise and identity infrastructure. Until today, Microsoft and walt.id have been two separate systems, which made it difficult to use and get the best of both worlds like support for various identity ecosystems and credential standards or data exchange protocols, white label wallets or customizable verification policies.
That’s why we build the integration: Developers and organizations can now use both platforms via walt.id’s unified and easy-to-use interfaces to build use cases with Issuer, Verifier and Wallet applications across industries. Since we decided to open source this integration (via The Community Stack) organizations have full control and enjoy flexible hosting options like on-premise, multi-cloud or hybrid deployments.
What does the integration offer?
Here’s an overview of the most important capabilities this integration enables:
Issue IDs from Microsoft using standard and custom templates via one API call to the broadly used Microsoft Authenticator App or the walt.id web wallet.
Verify IDs utilizing walt.id’s pre-built and custom policies, enabling a fine-grained verification experience.
Build issuer, verifier, and wallet solutions that work with Microsoft IDs and other common ID credential standards, such as W3C SD-JWTs and Mobile Driver's Licenses (ISO/IEC 18103-5 mDL).
Launch your own white-label wallet solution.
Launch white-label issuer and verifier apps for your end-to-end use-case.
