 Role | What you will be doing.

Every member of our tech team (incl. our CTO) is working multiple areas, because we believe that breadth (not hyperspecialization) enables us to build the best possible company and products. For starters, you will be working on:

  1. Engineering: Develop our open source products.  

  2. Dev Ops: Shorten our dev life cycle and continuously deliver with high software quality.

  3. Support: Engage with our customers and ensure their success with any matter they may bring to your attention.

  4. Community: You will engage with and grow our dev community and help us nail the dev experience of our products such as by crafting an industry-leading documentation.

  5. R&D: You will be building proof-of-concepts and implementations that have never been built before and work in cutting-edge research projects.

Over time you’ll be able to tweak your role based on your preferences and put a focus on areas that you want to spend more time on. 

Skills & Experience | What you bring to the table.

We’re looking for generalists (the jacks & janes of all trades) who are strong technologists:

Must haves 

  • At least 5 years of experience as a developer or a technical degree (college, university).

  • Proficient in Kotlin or Java and the corresponding frameworks.

  • Experience in security, privacy, digital identity.

  • Familiar in building & deploying Microservices with Docker & Kubernetes.

  • Solid understanding of database modeling and design.

  • Ambition to work on Open Source and Linux.

Nice to haves 

  • Experience with developing and/or maintaining open source software and Github repos.

  • Know how in web 3 technologies and concepts (DLTs/blockchains, NFTs, dApps) .

  • Experience in fields related to digital identity (e.g. SSI, eID/eIDAS, identity verification).

  • Web development experience. 

Soft Skills | What you bring besides technical skills.

  • Since you will be working with customers and our open source developer community, you will need good communication skills. 

  • Our official language is English. You need to be at a proficiency level (German not needed). 

  • We are working with novel technologies that are constantly evolving and we need you to have the curiosity and desire to learn and always stay up-to-date.

  • walt.id is a fast-growing company; you need the ability to adapt and keep up with the pace.
