We support the following protocols for issuance: OID4VCI, ISO 18013-7

Can I bring my own credential schemas?

Yes, you can issue credentials based on custom schemas. However, we do not yet offer a managed credential schema service. You are responsible for hosting and managing your own credential schemas.

Can I define a custom credential template?

The walt.id issuer is flexible regarding credential formats and types. This means you can use the API to sign any custom data structure without needing to create a "credential template" beforehand. The only requirement is to register your custom credential type (which includes the name of your credential and optional display properties) in the issuer metadata.

Is your solution eIDAS2 conformant?

Our solution supports all required standards and protocols for eIDAS2 compliant issuance.

Which license do you use for your open source stack?

Our open source stack is licensed under the Apache 2.0 license.

What is the difference between The Community Stack and the Enterprise Stack?

The Community Stack is our open-source offering, ideal for PoCs and MVPs. The Enterprise Stack extends it with data persistence, multi-tenancy, lifecycle management, audit logs, analytics, a GUI, and more—suitable for production-grade ID solutions at scale or ID-as-a-Service (B2G, B2B, B2B2C). Learn more about the Community Stack and the Enterprise Stack.

How do I move from the Community Stack to the Enterprise Stack?

Both stacks offer compatible APIs and credential definitions. This means you can smoothly transition your API calls to the Enterprise Stack whenever needed.

Do you offer a managed issuance solution?

We currently do not offer a managed service; please contact us if you're interested in a managed solution.

What support options are available?

Community users can apply for a support contract. Enterprise customers additionally get onboarding, architecture reviews, SLAs, and roadmap alignment directly with the walt.id team.
